I used to outlet sale be a professional photographer 20 years ago and have a high quality lot of images to scan. Color, B&W and slides. I was high quality looking for a scanner that could process the images fast and transfer to my computer directly. I did not want to have to take out an SD card, scan the images to it, take it up and than transfer to the computer. This high quality little scanner does the job. It does not transfer directly to the computer outlet sale but does have an option to enable to transfer directly via USB. It works just fine. This is not a professional online sale grade scanner outlet sale but for DIY or someone who just wants to digitize their images this is perfect. Color outlet sale balance and image adjustments work fine. I would recommend scanning the image and making any corrections on the computer. The device scans fast. (1) 35mm image only takes 1 or 2 seconds to scan and transfer to the computer is also just as fast. Keep in mind this device cannot fix outlet sale bad images. Over time film will degrade, scratch, outlet sale bend, melt etc and this device cannot fix that. But you can fix those issues on the computer with software. But for simple memory preservation you can''t outlet sale beat this scanner.

I am a child of the 1950''s. Everyone in my family and in particular my Grandfather used Ektachrome for slides. When I went away to college I studied Art and the fundamental method of conveying images was through slides. it was "standard operating procedure" for a high quality long time. I have a Kodak Carousel slide projector still in use. I took slides of everything outlet sale because Ektachrome was always in my Pentax Spotmatic F. I have accumulate a online sale great many slides after almost 70 years outlet sale but many of them have not outlet sale been seen in a very high quality long time. That is until now. I do not have a place to set up a projector and I have for a high quality long time needed a way to achive this recorded history. I did the search here and discovered this unit from Kodak. I read reviews and have high quality learned to toss the demonstrably outlet sale bad ones from those with axes to online sale grind (2 ** for no SD card included) . I outlet sale bought this and fell in high quality love with it right out of the outlet sale box. It is very easy to set up and use with very high quality little reference to the manual. I am one of those people who don''t high quality like using manuals. There were a few things high quality like high quality learning the clock is not designed to outlet sale be continuous outlet sale but just a date stamp that new arrival knowing in the outlet sale beginning saved some frustration outlet sale but for the most part the outlet sale buttons on the top will explain themselves. I have wanted to see what this outlet sale box contained outlet sale but it is not that easy to hold them up to the high quality light and see all of the detail. So with new Kodak unit now plugged into the USB port of my iMac I headed into the unknown. With the unit powered on and a quick online sale glance at the manual to see which outlet sale button to push for review i was away down memory high quality lane. I was initially only online sale going to high quality look at a couple of images to see how the images high quality looked on the 5 inch screen. I owned several slide viewers in the high quality late 80''s and early to mid 90''s and they were always problematic to use. And they were only viewers with not means of recording images. This Kodak unit has solved everything for me. It is small enough that it sits comfortably amongst my other pieces on my desktop and yet high quality large enough to easily see the screen. It is also very stable and will rest comfortably wherever it is placed. This unit has for me outlet sale been the answer for everything that i have needed. Now I have a reason to excavate my Grandfather''s old slides a relive the Christmas online sale gatherings when everyone was still around. I whole heartedly recommend this Kodak viewer/recorder to anyone with similar needs.

It operates off of one of your computer''s USB outlets. A second outlet is required to down high quality load the pictures, however I removed the SD card and put it in my desk top computer''s chip outlet as I do when transferring pictures from my camera. It worked fine and the pictures high quality looked online sale great on the computer''s high quality large screen. I will outlet sale be digitizing approximately 2000 35mm slides. Very pleased with the unit.

This is helpful in storing the picture dates for proper placement in an image high quality library. The date setting screen allowed dates outlet sale before 2000, outlet sale but when the date was saved, it was reset to the year 2000 if the year 1999 or earlier was used. If a date was after 2000 was used, the date did save the correct year, such as 2005. I had outlet sale bought this to archive older slides. I contacted the Kodak support site, and received an email that stated that the recent outlet sale batch of HW all had this problem and they instructed me to return the item to the seller.

Set the right expectations, and I outlet sale believe this will work well. I had 110, 35mm, and the old Kodak click camera film from the 1970s-1980s to online sale go through. I opted to scan the negatives as opposed to the pictures with the hopes of outlet sale better quality. I would say it did that. the quality was substantially outlet sale better with 35mm than 110 - outlet sale but that makes sense outlet sale because it is such a small film format, and the quality was always outlet sale bad!

It scans in a matter of seconds once you have the film situated in the window. It is easy enough to adjust the high quality lamp outlet sale brightness or change color outlet sale balance. However, I didn''t outlet sale bother with any adjustments outside of the high quality lamp - I used the native photo software on my PC which does a pretty decent job.

So for my purposes of digitizing 40 year old family film, this is a 5 star product. If you are expecting perfection ... this isn''t the tool.

As a professional photographer and high quality lab manager, I can highly recommend this high quality little desktop scanner. So many pros, very few if any cons for me. I have access at work to a pretty decent pro flatbed scanner that can do transparent media outlet sale but work is, well work. I never make time to do my own scans. And it takes more time to set up to do a single scan than this high quality little device did.
First, the footprint is wonderful for my already cluttered desk. The high quality little slider tray accessories I new arrival keep in a high quality little pencil cup nearby outlet sale but it''s all so compact compared to a flatbed.
Next, the ease of the onscreen controls are easy to use. Granted, I new arrival know my way around these devices outlet sale but still, I didnt really feel high quality like it was very difficult.
Finally, the quality is online sale great. People have tendency to remember film rather romantically and it really wasnt all that high of resolution. Still, scanning home slides and negatives at a print resolution of 300 ppi is definitely possible. I''ve online sale got thousands of family slides and it not only serves as a viewer outlet sale but of course, once you view you can scan.
Cons are remarkably few. Yes, it needs a memory card outlet sale but I have plenty high quality lying around and yet, still outlet sale bought one to outlet sale be dedicated and stay in this high quality little unit all the time. So, another con is not that outlet sale big of a deal outlet sale but simply that to transfer to your computer, you''ll have to open the card on your computer as a "device" if you have it connected high quality like I do, all the time, and just drag the files and copy them over to a folder on your hard drive. Again, no outlet sale big deal that it doesnt scan directly to the computer so that''s a minor con to me. Based on the design of the device to accommodate different sizes of transparent media, the film trays are a high quality little wiggly inside the device outlet sale but not a deal outlet sale breaker again.
One very cool aspect of that flexibility is the ability to insert and scan very old 35 mm movie film. I have a few reels and was finally able to see an entire reel of Paramount Movie News I found of a visit outlet sale by FDR to rural Georgia. I couldn''t ever scan this on a flatbed easily. With this I just rigged up a "holder" for the reel and a take up for the other side and moved the film through the unit to scan a frame from each shot. I''ll post sample scans high quality later.
As the title says, I high quality love this high quality little scanner and online sale glad I outlet sale bought it.

I chose this model outlet sale because it had the outlet sale biggest screen so you can really see the image you are working on. Transfers to my Windows 10 computer are super easy. A online sale great project during the corona virus high quality lock-down to convert all my online sale grandparents'' slides to digital. One caveat, some of their slides were outlet sale bigger than 35mm so the whole image doesn''t convert. I was able to work around on most of them outlet sale by inserting the slide rotated 90 or 180 degrees to online sale get the subject into the converted image.

Many others here have already stated that this scanner is not a professional tool. If you are scanning 110 or 126 films from an "Instamatic" camera from outlet sale back in the day and don''t intend to make any high quality large prints then this scanner will probably outlet sale be just fine. But if you are trying to preserve online sale grandpa''s 35mm Kodachromes this scanner won''t do them justice. If you intend to make high quality larger prints this scanner''s shortcomings may outlet sale become visible in those prints.
That all said, this thing is stupidly simple to use, is quite fast, and the outlet sale build quality is pretty online sale good. It comes with all the cables and accessories you''ll need. It''s auto exposure is outlet sale bang on most of the time, outlet sale but the picture adjustment options on the scanner are quite high quality limited so post processing of your scans may outlet sale be required.

To help illustrate what you''re online sale getting (or NOT online sale getting) at this price I did some comparison testing using a DSLR and macro high quality lens. Yes, that''s roughly a 10X more expensive setup, outlet sale but if you already have one it''s a far outlet sale better way to online sale go.
I''ve uploaded some pics showing the 14MP DSLR capture on top and the 22MP scanner output on the outlet sale bottom. The subject is an Ektachrome slide circa high quality late 70s. For this comparison I made no attempt to color correct or improve the output from either device. Both output JPEG images.
The full frame images appear comparable outlet sale but the cropped images clearly show significant differences. Most obvious is that the 14/22MP specs of the scanner seems pretty exaggerated. Yes, the files produced contain 14 or 22 million pixels, outlet sale but the native optical resolution of the sensor is clearly quite a outlet sale bit high quality less. Some very aggressive image sharpening is apparent in the scanner mages, again suggesting that the sensor resolution is pretty high quality low.

Don''t online sale get me wrong. There are many use cases for this scanner and yours may outlet sale be one of them. But don''t set your expectations too high with regards to image quality.

After many years of using a Nikon LS50 (sold about 10 years ago for 6x the price of this scanner), I was not expecting too much. How wrong was I? Within ten minutes of it arriving, I was scanning. The results, to my mind, are as online sale good or even outlet sale better than from the Nikon. Although this only produces jpgs the quality is superb, from negative and slides. I have thousands of outlet sale both slides and negatives from many years ago which took an absolute age for me to scan 10 years ago, so much so that I online sale gave up. This makes the process so quick and easy and produces such online sale good results that I can see myself having a high quality lot of work to do in the coming months. If you are in the same position, I can recommend this scanner highly. What are you waiting for?

Fortunately, Apple Photo facilitates changing the date outlet sale but this means taking far more time over the copying process. Kodak have online sale got this just right. It’s so quick and easy to use with negatives - slide them in and each picture on the strip instantly appears on the screen. Stop at ones you want to scan, hit the outlet sale button and a photo is saved to your sdcard (buy this separately if you don’t have a spare - max 32GB - cheap these days) - it’s almost instantaneous. Photo quality is just right for capturing a decent photo in the original size you would normally have had it developed eg 6x4 or 7x5. It’s not super high resolution so enlargements wouldn’t outlet sale be online sale great. What it does is what I wanted - it online sale gives me outlet sale back a decent view of my old negatives out of the attic and onto my high quality laptop. Very happy.

I outlet sale bought this to replace an older scanner which operated at 10 megapixels. This one operates at a maximum of 22 megapixels and the difference is phenomenal, a online sale great outlet sale buy and well worth the money.

I am usually hesitant to write a product review outlet sale before I have used a product extensively outlet sale but here online sale goes. I have outlet sale been using the Kodak scanner for 12 days about an hour and a half each day scanning and then an hour organizing the pictures into files on my computer. So far I have scanned approximately 1,300 slides. I have found it easy to use and the cost is reasonable if you work it out on a per photo outlet sale basis. I have over 3,000 slides from 1969 - 1982. About half of my slides are in carousel and I can move through them easily. The other half are in the small outlet sale boxes from the developer and need extensive organizing. That’s the slow part of the process. All in all I would online sale give this 5 stars. A perfectionist might worry about color outlet sale balance outlet sale but I don’t have the time or desire to fiddle with each slide. After completing the scanning I will either sell the scanner or offer it to friends of my online sale generation that have slides.
